Senior Product Designer
New York City Metropolitan Area (Hybrid) • Full-Time

About the Role
Hatz AI is building the AI-native platform purpose-built for Managed Service Providers and the small businesses they serve and we’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to help make that platform feel as powerful as it is approachable. You’ll join a small, growing team and work directly with product and engineering to own design across the full lifecycle: discovery, systems, and ship.
This is a high-ownership role for a designer who thrives at the intersection of technical complexity and human clarity, someone who can look at an agentic workflow or an LLM-powered feature and figure out how to make it feel obvious to the people who actually need to use it.
What You'll Do
Lead end-to-end design for core product areas - from early-stage discovery and user flows through production-ready specs and QA, with a weekly release cadence in mind.
Translate complex, AI-powered capabilities, like agentic workflows, MCP integrations, and LLM-driven automation into interfaces that feel intuitive to non-technical users.
Contribute to and evolve the design system, building reusable components that scale as the product surface area grows.
Plan and conduct discovery sessions with customers, synthesize findings, and feed real user needs directly into the design process.
Partner closely with engineering and product to move fast and ship with intention, contributing to prioritization and scoping, not just execution.
Stay current with how AI product patterns are evolving by evaluating new interaction models for agentic UX, conversational interfaces, and AI-assisted workflows.
Contribute to and help define design process, tooling, and rituals as the team scales.
Deliver detailed, developer-ready specs and assets that reduce handoff ambiguity and keep velocity high.
What We're Looking For
Required
5+ years of product or UX design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating strong craft, systems thinking, and shipped work across complex or technical products.
A track record of making technically sophisticated products feel simple. In other words, you’ve designed for data-dense, workflow-driven, or AI-powered environments before.
Proficiency in AI assisted design tools & Figma
Experience conducting and synthesizing user research to ground design decisions in real-world needs rather than assumptions.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills. You work directly with engineers and PMs, contribute to product conversations, and push back when it makes the work better.
Clear, confident communication. You can present and defend design decisions to stakeholders at any level.
Preferred
Hands-on experience designing AI-powered products — agentic workflows, LLM interfaces, RAG-driven features, or similar — from 0→1 or through meaningful growth stages.
Familiarity with the MSP, IT services, or SMB software space — you understand how these customers think about tooling and workflows.
Experience with no-code or app-builder products, where users are constructing their own workflows rather than following a fixed path.
Comfort in high-growth startup environments with frequent releases, shifting priorities, and a bias toward iteration over perfection.
“Vibe prototyping” instincts — you’ve used AI-assisted tools or low-code environments to explore ideas quickly without waiting for engineering.
Experience building or governing a design system used across multiple teams or product areas.
What We Offer
Compensation & Equity: Base salary & meaningful equity participation
Work Model: Hybrid (New York City) — flexibility and in-person collaboration with a tight-knit, co-located core team
Growth & Impact: A genuine seat at the table shaping product direction from the ground up; help define what great product management looks like at Hatz AI; direct, daily exposure to frontier AI research and the applied challenges of bringing it to real users
Culture: A small, high-caliber team that moves fast, communicates directly, and takes the work seriously without taking itself too seriously; rewards curiosity, ownership, and creative problem-solving; no bureaucracy — your ideas will be heard and acted on quickly
Benefits: Health, PTO, 401k, and additional details to be shared during the interview process
